Ticketing FAQ

Is GameCity free?

Lots of events are, lots aren’t. Everything that’s happening in Market Square, the Malt Cross and in the Waterstone’s View From The Top Gallery is free. So, if you want to come along and be a zombie, or take part in Nottingham’s Fittest, or come to Luigi’s birthday party, or build some Lego, or play some independent games at Indiecade, or join in the discussions at Who’s Afraid Of Videogames, then you’re welcome to just turn up.

Everything that’s happening in GateCrasher and the Britannia is ticketed. On the site, look out for events that say ‘Festival Pass’ after them - you’ll need a ticket for all of those. So, if you want to hear about Goldeneye, or see the Media Molecule BAFTA keynote, or hear from Harmonix, or go to the Jonathan Coulton, Press Play On Tape or Powerplay gigs, you’ll need a ticket.

How do I get tickets?

Head over to our ticketing site and buy online, or you can buy them on the door at GateCrasher Nottingham each day. If you buy online, you’ll need to bring your booking confirmation (the confirmation email that you received when you booked, or the confirmation number which it contained) along to GateCrasher where we’ll swap it for a wrist-band - and some other goodies - which will get you in to all the events.

What if I just want to go to the evening events?

If you’re just coming to the evening events - perhaps the Halloween party with Jonathan Coulton and Harmonix at the Britannia - you’ll still need to buy a ticket, and you’ll still need to head over to GateCrasher (before 4pm on Friday) to swap it for a wristband. If you don’t have a wristband, we won’t be able to let you in: we can’t sell tickets on the door at the evening event. But the good news is that your ticket will get you in to all other festival events on the day(s) that it’s valid, so you can use it for all kinds of other events.

What if I lose my wrist band?

Wristbands aren’t replaceable, since they get you in to all our events. But don’t worry, they’re very secure, not to mention exceptionally stylish.

How do I know where each event is?

Check out the full schedule for Thursday, Friday and Saturday - that will tell you the venue for each and every event. Ticket holders will also get a full - and really rather special - programme when they register, to help them find their way around.

Are there age restrictions on any events?

All the events at Market Square and at Waterstone’s are open to everyone. The events in GateCrasher are for those over 16 only, and evening events where alcohol is being served, like the Halloween Party and In Bed With One Life Left are for those over 18 only.
