Lots of nice coverage online from the recent announcements of dates and prices for the show this year. Curiously, with the coverage about the event which is months away, we're now pretty much straight into development on the launch event. These are always slightly odd affairs, falling somewhere between polite civic / stakeholder networking and manic party. The tension between the two has always been a little difficult to reconcile, so this year, we're going to try and give the launch have a little more meaning (and function) than previously.
As we're going to have a lot of the forthcoming site developments all online and operational by then, the event is going to be as much about marking a point on the journey towards the festival as it is some guarded announcement of intentions. This is definitely going to be a bit more than just an extended trailer for the festival.
Oh, and there's going to be lots more to do.
We're just getting started on it, but we can confirm (for the record) that if you turn up in Market Square Nottingham at 4pm on July 1st, something awesome will happen.
