Friends, colleagues, we are delighted to finally be able to unpack the exciting details of this years' GameCity launch event.
Following a series of regrettable indiscretions, our attempt to make this years launch a subdued, low-key affair is now lying in tatters at our feet. Instead, we're going to make the City Centre as playable as possible for an evening in a rouse we're calling - Play the City.
All throughout the evening of July 1st, the bars and pubs of fair Nottingham city will be hosting competitions, encouraging excellence and generally being very playable.
Oh yeah, one more thing. Turn up at 4pm in the Market Square and you can take part in our low-key World Record Attempt. In partnership with First Wednesday and Trent FM we thought we'd have a quick go at the world record for the LARGEST GAME OF MUSICAL STATUES - dj'ed by none other than Sonic the Hedgehog. That's right. Sonic! Not someone dressed as him, but SONIC. HIMSELF!!
If you want to come along to the actual launch event itself, we'd love to welcome you in - although we must stress that we'll need your names in advance as it's limited capacity in the Ballroom. Email geri at gamecity.org if you want to come - apologies in advance if we run out of space. You don't really need to worry too much though, as the whole event will be live-tweeted by journo-in-residence and GC3 Live-blogger Thom Dinsdale.
That is all. For now.
