Further to our previous announcement concerned the dates of the GameCity Squared festival - 27 - 31 October, 2009, we would like to issue the following further comment.

In the light of the global financial climate and in anticipation of the forthcoming budget, a meeting was convened to discuss ways in which GameCity could assist in helping to spread joy.

Following this stakeholder meeting, during which everyone 'learnt something about themselves', it has been unanimously agreed that pretty much everything in the GameCity Squared festival will be free of charge*.

Venues which serve drinks and food are of course going to be charging for their goods and services, but ticket-based content will be free to all.
