...(Or Your Money Back) (You Haven't Paid Any Money) (Shut Up).
Playing games on your handheld is brilliant, but the bad news is that we're fairly sure it's not going to get you a million dollar record contract. The good news is that GameCity and 8-bit afficianados One Life Left have the answer. Come along to Muse on Friday at 5pm and spend an hour learning how to turn an everyday grey-brick GameBoy into a musical weapon, courtesy of Ash Eskrett aka Sabrepulse, one of the world's top chiptune musicians.
Don't worry if you've never entertained the idea of making bleep music before. Ash plans to take attendees through the basics of GameBoy sequencer LSDJ, allowing anyone with a brain, a pulse and working thumbs to begin their quest for fame. So why not try? At worst, you've spent an hour laughing at OLL's attempts to learn how to make the music it loves so much. At best, this is your first step along a path that leads to screaming fans, a world tour, impossible riches and a glamorous, mythologised early death. See you there!
Participation will be limited to 25 people, so if you want to be sure of a place visit HERE to reserve a spot or turn up early. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own hardware -- if you don't have a GameBoy, a laptop, emulator and copy of LSDJ will do just fine. Or you can just watch Ash/Sabrepulse do his thing.
